Briefly, what are you going to do?

Establish a company that offers rural communities in Africa a water and irrigation microfinance package for community development and sustainable business.

Company Name

Out of the Ground

Company Website, if applicable. Include the http:// part.

What problem will your business solve, and/or what benefit will it offer?

We will improve access to clean water and reduce poverty in rural areas of Africa.

Who are your customers, and what are they paying you for?

There are two groups of customers. The first is the rural communities we serve who pay us back for the investments we offer in water and irrigation, as well as training and support. The second group is our customers who buy our high quality, organic vegetable preserves.

Why are you and/or your team the right people to do this?

I have 3 years of experience and (almost) a PhD involving the economics of rural water and irrigation developments in Africa. I will find the right people to fill in the remaining gaps as the company grows.

How will your firm make the world a better place if it is successful?

We will address two of Africa's most pressing issues: water access and poverty. We plan to create a long-term, sustainable model that builds rural communities up from their own resources, rather than a dependence on charity.

What Country/Countries will your business operate in?

Zambia
